KABUL: Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, held a coordination meeting with representatives of several organizations, including the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
According to a statement issued by the ministry, the meeting focused on water supply and sanitation issues, with particular emphasis on implementing projects aimed at providing access to safe drinking water.
During the meeting, Mansoor stressed that water supply and sanitation programs should currently prioritize refugee camps, noting that the provision of clean drinking water has become increasingly important for displaced populations, especially children, amid rising temperatures.
Minister Mansoor also emphasized that development projects should be implemented based on the actual needs of local communities and called for stronger coordination among partner organizations to avoid duplication of projects and improve the effectiveness of development assistance.
The participants discussed ways to enhance cooperation and ensure that humanitarian and development programs better address the urgent needs of vulnerable communities across Afghanistan.
