KABUL: The Ministry of Interior Affairs said that 25 people have been arrested in Herat province on charges of trafficking and selling illegal narcotics.
According to the ministry’s Counter-Narcotics Directorate, authorities seized more than 6 kilograms of methamphetamine, 3.7 kilograms of hashish, more than 4 kilograms of opium, and 754 narcotic pills from the suspects.
The ministry said the detainees’ case will be transferred to judicial organs for further investigations.
Since the Islamic Emirate returned to power, a nationwide ban has been imposed on the production, trafficking, and sale of narcotics, with dozens of drug manufacturing facilities reportedly dismantled over the past nearly five years.
