KABUL: The first trial shipment through the new transport corridor linking Dushanbe, Tehran, and Kabul will take place within the next month, Tajikistan’s Ministry of Transport has said in a statement.
The ministry said commercial goods traded between Tajikistan and Iran will be transported via Afghanistan, with plans to expand the corridor in later stages to markets across Central Asia and China.
Tajikistan, Iran, and Afghanistan previously signed a trilateral agreement to establish the transport corridor and formed a joint working group to oversee the project’s implementation.
According to Tajik officials, representatives of the three countries are expected to meet again in Kabul in late October or early November 2026 to review the progress of the project.
