FAIZABAD: The Badakhshan Police have denied allegations that a woman was subjected to a body search after security forces stopped her and a male companion on suspicion of transporting narcotics in Yaftal-e Payan district.
According to the Badakhshan Police Command, the man accompanying the woman fled the scene and later claimed that the woman had been body-searched by security personnel.
Police said that following the spread of the allegation, a number of local residents attacked a security checkpoint in the area.
The police also alleged that certain groups were attempting to exploit public sentiment and spread misinformation to undermine security in the province.
