KABUL: The Ministry of Interior Affairs has announced that its counter-narcotics forces seized and destroyed 1,350 kilograms of opium during an operation in Baghni district of Helmand province.
In a statement, the ministry’s Deputy Office for Counter-Narcotics said one suspect was arrested in connection with the operation. The individual will be referred to the relevant judicial authorities after preliminary investigations are completed.
The Ministry of Interior also emphasized that operations targeting the production, trafficking, and possession of narcotics will continue across the country.
