KABUL: Mawlavi Matiul Haq Khalis, Director General of Afghanistan’s National Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA), met with Ilham Mammadov, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Afghanistan, to discuss various environmental issues.
According to a statement issued by the agency, the two sides exchanged views on environmental protection, strengthening regional cooperation, sharing expertise, Afghanistan’s participation in international conferences and meetings, and issues related to climate change.
Khalis also requested Azerbaijan’s support in capacity building, the sharing of technical expertise, the transfer of environmental equipment, and urban development cooperation with Afghanistan’s environmental authority.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Mammadov described relations between Afghanistan and Azerbaijan as friendly and enduring, adding that the two countries have long enjoyed brotherly ties and will continue to expand their cooperation.
