Afghan Forces seize 74 light and heavy weapons smuggled from Pakistan

KABUL: The personnel of the Ministry of Defense have seized 74 light and heavy weapons, along with thousands of rounds of ammunition and military equipment, in various areas of the eastern zone.

Waheedullah Mohammadi, spokesperson for the 201st Khalid bin Walid Army Corps, said the seized weapons included PK machine guns, Kalashnikovs, M16 rifles, pistols, mortars, AGS grenade launchers and Dragunov rifles.

Mohammadi said that some of the seized weapons had been smuggled from Pakistan into Afghanistan for what he described as “destructive activities.”
