KABUL: Six people allegedly involved in smuggling 289 kilograms of narcotics have been arrested in the country’s northern Takhar province, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement today.
The special units of the Deputy Ministry for Counter-Narcotics arrested five people with 188 kilograms of drugs during an operation in Bangi district, said the statement, adding that another suspect was arrested with 101 kilograms of narcotics in Taloqan, the provincial capital.
The ministry said the suspects will be handed over to judicial and legal authorities for further investigation after the completion of preliminary inquiries.
