Officials stress faster coordination to implement 200-megawatt solar power project in Kabul

KABUL: Kabul Governor Mullah Aminullah Obaid met with officials from Azizi Energy to discuss the design, technical aspects and implementation of a 200-megawatt solar power project in Khak Jabar district.

The Kabul governor’s media office said the meeting focused on the project’s progress, coordination among relevant government agencies and increasing solar power generation capacity in Kabul.

The governor stressed the need to accelerate the project’s implementation while ensuring quality and effectiveness. He assured his administration’s support in providing the necessary support to facilitate the project, particularly regarding the transfer of land.

Officials from Azizi Energy also briefed the meeting on the project’s plans and upcoming activities, emphasizing the need for continued coordination among relevant agencies to ensure its implementation.

According to officials, the 200-megawatt Khak Jabar solar power project is expected to play an important role in increasing electricity generation capacity and meeting Afghanistan’s energy needs.
