KABUL: Afghanistan’s Interior Affairs Minister, Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, has emphasized national unity, stability and reconstruction during his visit to Bamyan province.
Meeting with local officials, religious scholars and tribal elders, Haqqani described the country’s current security and stability as a major national asset, stressing that Afghanistan is the common home of all Afghans.
He described efforts to divide Afghans along ethnic, regional and linguistic lines as plots by what he called foreign hostile circles, and called for greater unity and brotherhood among the people.
Haqqani also stressed that maintaining security, stability and national unity is a shared responsibility of the government and the people, urging all Afghans to work together for the country’s reconstruction and development.
During the visit, the interior minister also held separate meetings with tribal elders and influential figures in Bamyan, listened to their concerns, and instructed relevant officials to follow up on and address the issues raised.
