334 families return home through various border crossings

KABUL: The High Commission for Addressing the Refugee Issues, in a statement said that 334 families, comprising 1,640 people, entered the country and were registered over the past 24 hours through the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Pul-e Abrishum and Islam Qala crossings.

According to the statement, 273 families, comprising 1,448 people, were transferred to Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman, Kabul and several other provinces after registration.

A total of 3.33 million Afghanis in cash assistance have been distributed to 285 returning families, the statement said, adding that returning migrants were also provided with health, food, and telecommunications services, while 238 SIM cards were distributed among them.

Some patients were referred for medical care and treatment.
