Over 240 Afghan migrant families return to country in one day

KABUL: The High Commission for Addressing Refugee Issues says 244 Afghan migrant families, comprising 1,183 people, entered Afghanistan and were registered over the past 24 hours through the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Silk Bridge and Islam Qala crossings.

The commission said 112 families, comprising 588 people, were transported to various provinces during the same period, while 139 families received financial assistance and 143 SIM cards were also distributed to returnees.

Returning migrants have also received healthcare, food and other essential services, the statement said, adding that the process of registering, receiving, transporting and supporting returnees continues at designated locations.
