Afghanistan, India stress exchange of experience on International Electrotechnical Standards

KABUL: Mawlavi Mohammad Hanif, director of Standards and Building Codes Development and Promotion at Afghanistan’s Standards and Quality Authority, has met with officials and specialists from India’s Bureau of Indian Standards.

According to a statement, the meeting focused on International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards, as well as exchanging experiences in standards development, implementation and management, and strengthening technical cooperation.

The statement said participants discussed the procedures for adopting and applying IEC standards, the management and accessibility of standard documents, and technical issues related to the distribution of standards.

Afghanistan’s Standards and Quality Authority described the meeting as an effective step toward exchanging technical knowledge and experience, gaining familiarity with effective approaches to managing international standards, and benefiting from the experiences of countries with successful standardization systems.
