Number of foreign tourists visiting Afghanistan rises by about 30%

KABUL: The number of foreign tourists visiting Afghanistan has increased by about 30 percent over the past three years, the General Directorate of State-Owned Enterprises said.

The directorate said the state-owned Afghan-Tour company has provided necessary facilities and services for foreign tourists and visitors.

These services include providing professional tour guides, arranging accommodation at modern hotels, and using 50 newly purchased, high-speed vehicles for transportation, according to the directorate.

The statement said the combination of improved security, coordination among relevant government institutions, and better services provided by Afghan-Tour has contributed to a continued increase in the number of foreign tourists visiting Afghanistan.
