KABUL: Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, on Thursday inspected ongoing work on the Salang Highway.
According to a statement from the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs, Baradar described the highway as important for trade, transit and connectivity between Kabul and the northern provinces.
He stressed that work on the highway should be carried out more quickly and to a high standard.
Officials from the Ministry of Public Works and contracting companies assured Baradar that work on the Salang Highway would be completed according to plan and in line with all relevant standards.
