Mullah Baradar kicks off work on Industrial Park in Baghlan

KABUL: Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, has inaugurated the construction of the Qutayba ibn Saeed Baghlani Industrial Park in northern Afghanistan’s Baghlan province.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs, the industrial park will be built on 1,679 jeribs of land and is expected to provide space for industrialists to operate and create jobs for thousands of Afghans.

The Islamic Emirate has launched the construction of industrial parks in various parts of the country to strengthen economic growth, Baradar said, adding that the initiative would help enable Afghan-made products to be exported to other countries.

He also described economic independence as a foundation for political and cultural independence, saying domestic industrial and production activities should be expanded and strengthened to achieve economic self-sufficiency.

Baradar further called for joint efforts by Afghans, saying the Islamic Emirate is taking steps, including the development of industrial parks, to create long-term employment opportunities in the country.
