KABUL: Construction has begun on three industrial parks in the provinces of Kunduz, Baghlan and Balkh, the office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs said.
According to the office, the industrial parks include the Abdul Rahman Samra Industrial Park in Kunduz, the Qutaybah ibn Saeed al-Baghlani Industrial Park in Baghlan, and the Imam Shafiq Balkhi Industrial Park in Balkh and will cover a combined area of 33,679 square meters.
The source said the projects aim to expand industrial production, create jobs, process raw materials, increase exports, and reduce dependence on imports.
The construction projects were officially inaugurated by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.
