KABUL: A virtual meeting was held between Nooruddin Azizi, Afghanistan’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, and Richard Lindsay, the United Kingdom’s Special Representative for Afghanistan.
Ministry of Industry and Commerce said Lindsay welcomed Afghanistan’s position on constructive engagement with the international community.
According to the ministry, Lindsay said the UK plans to gradually shift its cooperation with Afghanistan from humanitarian assistance toward economic cooperation.
Azizi, meanwhile, emphasized the continuation of constructive engagement between Afghanistan and the international community based on mutual respect.
The two sides also stressed the importance of continuing dialogue and expanding economic cooperation, according to the ministry’s statement.
