KABUL: Governor of Herat Shaikh Noor Ahmad Islamjar met with Seyed Abdullah Arjaei, deputy minister of Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, and his accompanying delegation to discuss the completion of the Abu Nasr Farahi road, expansion of the Herat-Khawaf railway, and increased trade and transit between the two countries.
Islamjar described the Herat-Khawaf railway and Islam Qala port as important economic routes for Afghanistan.
The Iranian delegation also emphasized continued cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran in trade and transit.
