KABUL: A motorcyclist was martyred in a traffic accident involving a convoy of Russian tourists on the Kishm-Faizabad highway in Afghanistan’s northeastern Badakhshan province.
Ehsanullah Kamgar, spokesman for the Badakhshan police command, said the accident occurred at around 3 p.m. Thursday in the Pul-e Begum area of Kishm district.
He said the motorcyclist’s body was taken to the Kishm district hospital.
Kamgar added that four Russian nationals, including a woman, who were members of the tourist convoy were detained by security forces along with two interpreters in connection with the incident.
