KABUL: Afghan and Indian officials have discussed modernizing wastewater systems and introducing new technologies in the sector.
Afghanistan’s General Directorate of State-Owned Companies said Mawlavi Ghulam Rahman Kazim, chief executive of the state-owned Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Corporation, met with the chairman of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) to discuss wastewater management and the development of treatment systems.
During the meeting, Kazim called for India’s cooperation in modernizing Afghanistan’s wastewater systems and constructing treatment plants suited to the country’s conditions and needs.
According to the directorate, the Indian side also expressed readiness to cooperate in establishing decentralized wastewater systems and constructing treatment plants appropriate for Afghanistan’s circumstances.
