KABUL: One woman was martyred and 27 others, including women and children, were injured after a vehicle overturned in Afghanistan’s eastern Laghman province, officials said.
Mohammad Younus Yousufzai, spokesman for the Laghman police command, told Omid Radio that the incident occurred at around 9 a.m. on Monday in the “Mushkali Kamar” area of Qarghayi district where one woman was killed and 27 others were injured.
Mawlavi Habibullah Mubarez, head of Laghman’s traffic management department, said the injured were taken to medical facilities for treatment.
He added that the vehicle was traveling from Logar province toward Kama district in neighboring Nangarhar province when it overturned in the Mushkali Kamar area of Qarghayi district.
