KABUL: The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs has approved a plan to construct oil and gas unloading, loading, and storage facilities with a capacity of 10,000 tons at the Islam Qala port in Herat province.
The proposal was presented at a meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee, where it underwent comprehensive review and discussion before being deemed eligible for approval.
Under the project, the private sector will construct oil and gas storage facilities and other related infrastructure at Islam Qala port.
Officials say that once completed, the project will facilitate the operations of oil and gas traders, reduce their costs, and create employment opportunities for approximately 3,000 people.
