KABUL: Three children have lost their lives and another was injured after an old mortar shell exploded in the Zawi area of Khogyani district in Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar province, the provincial police command said.
Sayed Tayeb Hamad, spokesman for the Nangarhar police command, said the children were playing with the old shell when they struck it, causing it to explode.
He said three children have lost their lives in the incident, while the injured child was taken to a hospital for treatment.
