U.S. Senator calls for end to funding for Iran war

KABUL: U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen has called on Congress to stop funding the war against Iran.

Van Hollen wrote on his X account that President Donald Trump was preparing to send around 10,000 additional U.S. troops to the Middle East, while allegedly concealing American military casualties.

He described Trump’s possible renewed military operations against Iran as an “illegal war” and said Congress should stop funding the conflict.

According to U.S. media reports, the United States is preparing to deploy a third aircraft carrier and as many as 10,000 additional troops to the Middle East.
