GHAZNI: A 14-member Uzbek diplomatic delegation, led by Bahadur Tashmanov, deputy head of Uzbekistan’s embassy in Kabul, visited Ghazni on Monday and met with local officials and members of the Ulama Council.
The Ghazni provincial media office said Sheikh Hamidjan Ishmatbekov, deputy head of Uzbekistan’s Muslim Affairs Administration, also accompanied the delegation.
Local officials said the visit aimed to strengthen cultural ties between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan and provide the Uzbek delegation with a deeper understanding of Ghazni’s historical heritage.
The delegation visited the mausoleum of Hakim Sanai Ghaznavi, the tomb of Abu Rayhan al-Biruni, the mausoleum of Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi, Babaji Mosque, and the Minarets of Ghazni.
