MAZAR-I-SHARIF: Balkh Governor Mullah Mohammad Yusuf Wafa, during a meeting with a 14-member delegation of Uzbek scholars, stressed the expansion of scientific, cultural and economic cooperation between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
The Balkh governor’s press office said Wafa, referring to the historical and scholarly ties between Balkh and Termez, called for increased scientific cooperation between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Hamidjan Ishmatbekov, deputy of Uzbekistan’s Grand Mufti, said Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have close ties in scientific, cultural, historical, and trade fields and stressed the need to further expand these relations.
