Indonesian Ambassador donates 150 books to Bamyan Public Library

KABUL: Nanda Awalast, Indonesia’s ambassador, during his visit to Bamyan province, donated 150 books to the public library of the province.

In a statement, the Ministry of Information and Culture said the ambassador and his accompanying delegation visited Bamyan Public Library and held discussions with library officials on promoting reading and a culture of learning.

Awalast said Indonesia plans to encourage young people to read and expand their knowledge and awareness by organizing cultural programs and book exhibitions in both Afghanistan and Indonesia.

Officials at Bamyan Public Library welcomed the donation, saying it would enrich the library’s collection and expand reading opportunities for young people and book enthusiasts.
