KABUL: CNN has reported that the U.S. military has drawn up plans for new offensive strikes against Iran, including the possible use of a massive bomb known as the “Mother of All Bombs.”
Citing several sources within the U.S. Department of War, the report said the bomb could be used against Iranian nuclear facilities and energy infrastructure if U.S. President Donald Trump orders a resumption of military operations.
The sources added that a decision on whether to resume military operations could be made before or after the U.S. midterm elections. However, any final decision to launch the strikes would rest with Trump.
