KABUL: Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Islamic Emirate’s Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, says private hospitals have been divided into three categories, with specific rates set for each to control prices and improve healthcare quality.
Hanafi made the remarks in Kabul at a meeting announcing the results of the accreditation and ranking process for private hospitals, according to Omid Radio.
He said the measure would help regulate healthcare costs and promote fair competition among private hospitals.
“Efforts were underway to establish at least one hospital in every district across Afghanistan,” he said, and called on Afghan specialist doctors living abroad to contribute to treating patients in the country.
He further said training programs would be introduced to improve the knowledge, skills, and professional capacity of Afghan doctors and medical specialists.
