KABUL: Iranian officials have announced plans to address obstacles facing exports to Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq.
According to Iranian media, Hamid Ghanbari, deputy foreign minister for economic diplomacy, said a meeting of the country’s Economic Relations Coordination Centre reviewed exporters’ difficulties, transport challenges and ways to strengthen non-oil exports.
He said disruptions to transport routes and supply chains had created difficulties for some exporters in meeting their trade and foreign-exchange obligations.
Ghanbari added that proposals had been prepared to address these challenges and facilitate exports to neighbouring countries. The proposals will be pursued through diplomatic talks and follow-up by Iran’s diplomatic missions.
However, details of the proposed measures and the timeline for their implementation have not yet been announced.
