KABUL: Russia’s ambassador to Pakistan, Albert Khorev, says the Pashto language could help promote understanding, dialogue and reconciliation between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
According to a statement released by the Russian Embassy in Pakistan, Khorev made the remarks at a launch event in Islamabad for the book Advanced Practical Grammar of Pashto.
The Russian ambassador said the initiative could contribute to resolving differences between Kabul and Islamabad.
To illustrate his point, Khorev referred to relations between Russia and Ukraine, saying that just as the Russian language could help create conditions for reconciliation between the two countries, Pashto could play an important role in bringing Afghanistan and Pakistan closer together.
