KABUL: U.S. President Donald Trump says talks with Iran are ongoing and that Tehran wants to continue negotiations.
Responding to reporters at the White House, Trump said: “They want to talk, and they are talking. We have an opportunity.”
He also described the war with Iran as an unusual situation, saying it had come at a relatively low cost to American taxpayers.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that Qatari mediators have held lengthy discussions in Tehran about the latest US proposal to resume peace negotiations.
