KABUL: The Turkish Consulate in Herat has officially launched visa services for Afghan citizens, allowing residents of the province to apply for visas locally.
Consulate officials announced the move during a ceremony marking the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye, saying Herat residents can now access visa-related services in the province.
The Turkish Consulate began operating in Herat about 10 months ago, and its consular services section has now become operational.
Meanwhile, Turkish Consul General in Herat, Tezcan Kadioglu, stressed the importance of expanding economic cooperation and investment. He said efforts were underway to facilitate travel for Afghan businesspeople to Türkiye and attract Turkish investors to Herat.
Local officials described the activities of the Turkish Consulate and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in cultural, educational, healthcare, and humanitarian sectors as valuable.
