KABUL: According to the World Bank’s latest report, Pakistan’s poverty rate reached 29 percent in 2024 and 2025, with approximately 72.6 million people living below the poverty line in 2024.
The report states that more than 57.6 million Pakistanis survive on less than $3 a day.
The World Bank identified rising prices of essential goods, economic stagnation, and declining household incomes as the main factors contributing to the increase in poverty.
