KABUL: North Korea’s state news agency has reported that Pyongyang considers the recent joint military exercises by the United States and South Korea a “nuclear war exercise” targeting the country.
North Korea warned that it would accelerate efforts to strengthen its nuclear deterrence capabilities in response.
The exercises, known as Iron Mace, were held in Seoul from September 29 to October 2.
They reportedly aimed to coordinate South Korea’s conventional military capabilities with the United States’ nuclear capabilities.
