KABUL: The United States Special Representative to the Middle East, Steven Witkoff, has confirmed participation in a meeting with an Iranian delegation scheduled for next Saturday.
He stated that Washington would attend the meeting with Iran, but emphasized that it would not constitute negotiations.
According to a report by the French news agency, the United States has insisted that Witkoff will raise requests concerning Iran’s nuclear program during the meeting, with no negotiations taking place.
This comes as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has expressed expectations for Washington’s goodwill in participating in the meeting.
