Water supply network to be built in Kandahar

KABUL: Construction work on a water supply network worth 5.3 million Afghanis has been launched in relevant areas of Kandahar province, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development said in a statement to Radio Omid today.

The water supply project will be built in the Mailed Alizai village, Takhta Pul district of Kandahar province, said the statement.

According to the statement, the welfare project included digging a well, constructing a storage with a capacity of 20 cubic meters, installing 20 solar panels, installing nearly 60 water taps, and laying nearly 3 meters of piping.

With the completion of the project, safe drinking water will be provided to dozens of families, said the statement.
