KABUL: Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, the acting Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, stated that the Islamic Emirate is focused on reducing unemployment rates in the country and creating job opportunities, particularly for the youth.
According to a statement from the ministry today, he made the remarks during a courtesy meeting with Titi Hibakari, the new General Director of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Afghanistan.
According to the statement, Omari discussed the improvement and promotion of employment, the expansion of vocational training programs aimed at job placement, and enhancing the labor market during the meeting.
“The ministry is committed to reducing unemployment through various strategies and facilitating the legal employment of workers abroad,” he said, calling for the implementation of ILO projects in Afghanistan in coordination with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
Meanwhile, the General Director of the ILO in Afghanistan assured that the organization’s activities would be carried out in full coordination with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
It is noteworthy that ongoing development projects are creating short- and medium-term employment opportunities for dozens of individuals every day in the country.
