KABUL: The Acting Minister of Economy, Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, stated that the process of l and distribution for returning migrants has begun in six migrant townships across six provinces of the country.
He made the remarks today during a meeting of the Committee for Attracting and Mobilizing Aid for Afghan Migrants in Kabul.
In the meeting, which was attended by representatives from various domestic and international organizations, the acting minister called for increased attention and assistance from these organizations to returning migrants.
He mentioned that Kandahar, Kunduz, Uruzgan, Faryab, Jawzjan, and Paktia are the six provinces where the land distribution process for returnees has officially commenced following the completion of the construction of migrant townships.
“Construction work on townships in 11 other provinces is underway, where the land distribution process will soon begin,” he said, emphasizing that aiding organizations should not only provide immediate assistance but also focus on building shelters for migrants in these townships.”
The meeting also highlighted that representatives from both domestic and international organizations expressed their commitment to assist migrants through the Resettlement Committee.
It is worth noting that the Committee for Attracting and Mobilizing Aid for Migrants is led by the Ministry of Economy and is one of the 12 committees under the High Commission for Addressing Refugees Issues.
