ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of the Islamic Emirate in Islamabad the capital of Pakistan said in a statement, today that the Pakistani government established ‘Afghan Migrant Complaint Center’ to address Afghan migrant problems.
According to the statement, the center was created one day after the meeting between Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, and Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, in Kabul.
The Pakistani government stated that this center, set up by the Ministry of Interior, features direct phone lines and a control room operating 24/7, said the statement.
“Afghan migrants who face harassment while returning to Afghanistan—such as difficulties in selling their belongings or encountering other issues—can contact the Afghan Migrant Complaint Center to register their complaints or obtain necessary information,” the statement further said.
This development comes amid previous criticisms of the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the improper treatment of Afghan migrants by various Pakistani authorities.
