EU envoy emphasized on joint efforts for addressing returnees’ challenges

KABUL: Tomas Niklasson, European Union Special Envoy for Afghanistan in a meeting on Thursday, with the Acting Minister of Refugee and Repatriation Mawlavi Khalil-ur-Rahman Haqqani emphasized on joint efforts for addressing returnees’ challenges.

In the meeting, both sides discussed Afghan migrants’ problems in 2024, the Ministry of Refugees said in a statement.

Thomas Niklasson praised the efforts made by the Islamic Emirate in managing Afghan returnees, according to the source.

“The European Union diplomat has committed to bringing the voices of Afghan migrants to the attention of the international community in the Doha meeting.

The acting Minister of Refugees said that effective efforts are underway to address challenges faced by 2.5 Afghan migrants

“Countries and charitable organizations should provide their assistance in coordination with the Ministry,” the statement quoted Minister Haqqani as saying.
