Another 230 Afghan inmates released from Pakistani jails, ministry

KABUL:  The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said in a statement on Sunday that 230 Afghans have been released from different prisons in Pakistan and repatriated to the country.

The individuals had been arrested in various parts of Pakistan and held in detention from one to ten days, the statement said, adding that after release, they entered the country via the Spin Boldak ground port in Kandahar.

The released Afghan prisoners have been sent to their original areas after entering the country and receiving the necessary assistance.

This comes while the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation announced yesterday the release of nearly 300 Afghan citizens from Pakistani prisons.
