KABUL: The Ministry of Water and Energy said in a statement today that its delegation participated in the 9th International Renewable Energy Exhibition and Conference held in Iran.
According to the statement, the delegation, led by Engineer Jan Mohammad Hamza, head of Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Water and Energy, presented Afghanistan’s policies and programs regarding renewable energy, internal capacities, investment opportunities, and international cooperation.
During the conference, the Afghan delegation met with several Iranian companies active in the renewable energy sector.
The statement stated that some Iranian companies expressed interest in investing in renewable energy projects in Afghanistan.
The 9th International Renewable Energy Exhibition and Conference is underway in Iran.
This comes shortly after the Breshna Company inaugurated a project for the production of 43.2 megawatts of wind power and 5 megawatts of solar power, valued at nearly $70 million.
