49th International Hajj Conference: Afghanistan’s Hajj Minister participates

KABUL: Shaikh Noor Mohammad Saqib, the Acting Minister of Hajj, and Religious Affairs, has participated in the 49th International Conference titled “Nadwat al-Hajj al-Kubra” held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the ministry said in a statement today.
According to the statement, the conference was attended by heads of Islamic organizations, prominent scholars, ministers of Hajj from Islamic countries, and several officials from the Saudi government.
The ministry noted that this international conference is held annually during the Hajj season, to discuss religious issues related to the Hajj rituals and to ensure compliance with the established laws and regulations governing these ceremonies.
The country’s minister of hajj and religious affairs traveled to Saudi Arabia two days ago at the Saudi government’s invitation to participate in the conference and oversee the functioning of committees providing services to Afghan pilgrims.
According to the ministry’s information, over 30,000 Afghan pilgrims, including teachers, are participating in this year’s Hajj.
