Diplomatic delegation of Norway to visit Afghanistan soon

KABUL: Per Albert Ilsaas, Chargé d’Affaires of the Norwegian Embassy for Afghanistan, has announced that a diplomatic delegation from Norway will soon travel to Kabul.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate said in a statement today that the delegation’s visit to Kabul is to review the relations between Afghanistan and Norway, as mentioned during a meeting with Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Muttaqi described the acceptance of the Afghan diplomatic mission by the Norwegian government as a positive step, emphasizing that this action could foster trust and create impactful relations.

He characterized Norway’s role in improving Afghanistan’s relations with Western countries as constructive.

In the statement, Mawlavi Muttaqi also expressed concerns about the current situation in the region and noted that the Afghan government is ready to cooperate with the people of Iran based on Islamic and humanitarian principles.

Yesterday, the Chargé d’Affaires of Norway announced $80 million in aid to Afghanistan for 2025 during a meeting with the acting Minister of Economy.
