Attempt to assassinate Iranian Foreign Minister foiled

KABUL: An attempt to assassinate Iranian Foreign Minister Sayed Abbas Araghchi has been thwarted by the country’s security forces.

Araghchi’s advisor, Mohammad Hossein Ranjbaran, stated to the media that this was a “major Zionist conspiracy” that was discovered and neutralized in time by Iran’s security agencies.

Ranjbaran noted that if the security forces had not received timely intelligence, the attempt could have been executed several days ago in Tehran.

He attributed the plot to Israeli intelligence, asserting that such plans against Iran’s political leaders are considered destructive conspiracies against the nation’s sovereignty.

Details about the incident remain limited, but security agencies have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
