KABUL: Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s National Security Minister, has stated that the agreement reached between the United States and Iran does not bind Israel, emphasizing that Israel remains an independent and sovereign state.
In a statement, Ben-Gvir said: “Trump’s agreement does not obligate us. Israel is not subordinate to America. We are an independent and sovereign country.”
He added that Israel is not a party to the agreement and argued that it does not provide sufficient guarantees for Israel’s security.
The remarks come as a draft U.S.-Iran understanding reportedly calls for an immediate and permanent halt to hostilities across multiple fronts, including Lebanon. However, Iranian media have reported that Israeli forces carried out rocket attacks near Nabatieh and Kfarshouba in southern Lebanon.
