Saudi air defenses intercept drones targeting Eastern oil installations

KABUL: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense forces had intercepted and destroyed several drones that were attempting to target oil facilities in the country’s Eastern Province.
According to the ministry, the drones were launched from Iraqi territory, and the attempted attack was attributed to Iran-backed armed groups.
The Saudi government condemned the attack and called on Iraq to ensure that its territory is not used to launch such operations. Riyadh also reaffirmed its right to defend its territory and critical infrastructure against any security threats.
