Islamic Emirate rejects UN’s recent report on Afghanistan calling it inaccurate

KABUL: Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, issued a statement today rejecting the recent quarterly report of the United Nations on the situation in Afghanistan and calling it untrue.

Mujahid claimed that the report contains inaccurate information about Afghanistan and is intended to create concern regarding the current situation in the country.

He stated, “We reject this report, considering it a document based on false information and intended for propaganda.” Mujahid emphasized that the security situation in Afghanistan is currently better than ever and accused the UN of consistently presenting a distorted image of the country.

He reassured the Afghan people not to be concerned about the biased propaganda regarding security and stability, asserting that Afghanistan is safer than ever and that people continue their lives under the Islamic system.

The statement also noted that over 2 million domestic tourists traveled to various tourist destinations across the country during the holiday, indicating countrywide security in Afghanistan.

It is noteworthy that the UN Secretary-General recently published a report covering the period from February 1 to the end of April 2024, claiming that the situation in the country has worsened and that the humanitarian crisis has intensified.
